UPDATE: Mashazi, Gxasheka granted R50,000 bail

JOHANNESBURG - Former Ekurhuleni city manager Imogen Mashazi and suspended head of human resources Linda Gxasheka have been released on R50 000 bail each.

The pair appeared in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Friday. The case has been postponed to 28 August for further investigations.

Mashazi and Gxaleka made their first appearance on Thursday alongside suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi and suspended legal head Kemi Behari.

Mkhwanazi and Behari were also granted bail of R50 000 each.

All four were arrested on Wednesday on charges including corruption and defeating the ends of justice.

They have all been implicated at the Madlanga Commission.
